Abstract
Decoding the Disciplines was created as a process for increasing student learning by narrowing the gap between expert and novice thinking. It also provides a highly effective means of bring faculty – and in some cases students – together in a learning community. This panel brings together representatives of three learning communities operating in very different disciplinary contexts in Canada, Germany, and the United States, who have experienced the potential of Decoding as a strategy for group formation.
